One of the guest that came to the camp write some review for staying at G-Land, his name is John Maher. This is some of his review :
Bobby’s Surf Camp is located directly in front of the wave and offers the choice of three packages, Standard, Deluxe, and Superior.
I highly recommend going with the Deluxe package. The Deluxe is quite a bit better than the Standard package, and almost as good as the Superior. Keep in mind, the camp is located in a jungle preserve in the middle of Indonesia, so amenities are by no means luxurious, but they are very comfortable.
I also highly recommend taking the 2 hour (since using the Wanasari 5 it only takes 1.5 hour) speedboat to G-Land rather than the grueling 10 hour overnight van ride. They both leave from the same location on Bali, but when you arrive on the speedboat your ready to surf right when you get there.
The other two camps at G-Land are also nice, but Bobby’s is the best. The food is good, drinks are cold, the hang-out areas in the restaurant and on the beach are comfortable, and the individual room’s are cool to crash out in after a long day of surfing.
He also recommending to came to G-Land when the wave is good it’s around April to October, but it will get a little bit crowded. Since there are a lot of waves that months it will be no problem.
Bill Boyum and Bob Laverty, Americans, marooned in virgin jungle by the setting sun and impassable coast of East Java’s bewitched Alas Purwo National Park, July 1972. Assailed that night by a cacophony of screeching, scratching and howling, sleep came difficult for Boyum and Laverty, though a familiar distant roar was subtle reassurance that they were amidst a righteous journey.
It is not hard to imagine that it was the reams of swell rising and peeling supernaturally along the coral headland of Alas Purwo’s Plengkung coast that inspired such prophecy. Certainly, this sight was nothing less than religious for Boyum and Laverty when the sun finally rose and revealed a lefthander unlike anything they, or anyone, had ever seen.
Woohoo, it is dinner time !! Sometimes in G-Land Bobby’s Surf Camp, they serving all you can eat buffet. It is special occasion such as camps birthday or independence day. There will be a lot of kind new food you never taste at your home because it is Indonesian food and it is very delicious. You will impress if you try it the first time and will ask for more.
